Inter-House Athletics

Having had the sports day rained out on Saturday we couldn't have wished for a nicer day today... the sun is out, there is no wind and it's the perfect day to be having Inter-House Athletics.. Go Team. Who are you shouting for? Samson, David or Caleb? Let's see who will be the winning team at the end of the day.

First things first was the march past by all the athletes (as I overhead one of the parents say... it looked like the Olympics!)

And then it was on to the races... first up was the Grade 00s and Grade 0s... don't they look so cute... Line Up, On your marks, Get Set, GOOOOOOOO.....
And in amongst all the running there was also the field events....

Javelin

High Jump

Long Jump

Shot Put

And some more running... with a few of the winners

And in amongst the children were the Grade 7s in their fancy house shirts (back and front views)

Well done to Mrs van Vuuren for her organisation, training of the athletes and the whole team for the great job they did.... scores to follow.

More Concert Photos

A big thank you to Kirsten Mann for forwarding on some concert photos for the blog...

Here are some of the Grade 2 children waiting to go on...

And the Grade 0's all getting ready and lining up... off to make their debut on the stage.

Again a big thank you and well done to all the children and teachers for the great concert performances... we thoroughly enjoyed it.

INTER-HOUSE ATHLETICS

CANCELLED DUE TO THE RAIN... WILL BE RESCHEDULED

Inter-house athletics will take place on Saturday 1 August between 08:00 and 12:00. It has been decided to hold the sports day on a Saturday so that more parents may attend.

It is essential for all learners to attend the Inter-house athletics. Learners are to report to their class teacher and be marked off on the register, this will earn you a point towards your house.

Learners that are not in the team, will still participate in the field events and earn points for their house. House T shirts with house name printed on them are available from the Uniform Shop.

Holiday Club

Our school has changed into G-Force boot camp for this week... Do you even recognize the inside of the hall????

Some of the morning registration madness:

But the general feedback is.... this is fun! The children are having a good time, learning and doing lots... plus getting "homework".... and we all thought school was out! Each day they have a memory verse to learn and a task of some sort to do... for Tuesday they had to have a crazy hat and on Wednesday it was come dressed with your clothes inside out!

Second night of concert

The second night of the concert was just as huge a success as first night... congrats to ALL those involved... this mom sure had fun!

Scenes from before the show.... yummy boerewors rolls for supper, tea and coffee to warm up with, and the children getting dressed and then keeping occupied till stage time.
Mr Norel opened the evening in prayer and the show got going... enjoy your stories out of a box

First up were the Grade 7s with a trip to Nursery Land
Mary and Jack look up where Nursery Land is and then got told by their toys how to get there. Once in Nursery land they met Jack who built his house, Humpty Dumpty's kingsmen
Miss Muffets spider (who provided a few extra scary moments in the audience), Tom Thumb,, Jack & Jill, Polly Flinders
Baby Bunting, Mary Quite Contrary, Old Mother Hubbard and quiet a few more

Then were were all aboard with Noah and the family... the Grade 1s did a stirling job.
Learning the story from their "teacher", building the ark, getting teased by "The Sharks"
Gather 2 of every living thing... elephants, kangaroos, hens, lions, monkeysAnd even frogs, flies, ducks and crocodiles
And once the sun dried up all the rain, out came the rainbow and then they got to sing and dance.
The Grade 2s entertained us with a twist on the Hansel and Gretel tale
Watch and learn about how not to be greedy

After interval it was the turn of the Grade 3s. First up was "A Stone in the Road"

Then it was Jack and the Beans Talk... definately learn a few things about talking plants

And if you ever wondered why we have toll roads, don't miss The Three Silly Billies

Wow 350 children have been on the stage over the last two nights... wil two more nights still to come. This has sure been lots of fun.
