ASCENSION DAY

On Ascension Day we met on the field at the beginning of school to remember the day Jesus returned to heaven to sit at the right hand of God. As a representation of this, 7 purple helium balloons were released and we watched them as they rose up to the clouds.

Easter Service - 15 April 2014


It's time again for our annual Easter Service.

Come and join us at
Northcliff Union Church
on
Tuesday 15 April 2014
from 17:00.  

There will be boerewors rolls, hotdogs and colddrinks on sale from 17:00 to 18:30.

The service will start at 18:30


This service is compulsory for all the children as most of them will be taking part in some way.  Please let your teacher know beforehand if they will not be able to make it. Children must be in full school uniform.

The Camp Out is coming....

Our Annual Camp out will be held on 26th October

Gates open at 16.00.
Entrance fee R50 Adults and R20 children.

All children have to be accompanied by parents (please don't just drop your child off for the evening)

Braai facilities will be available and there will be activities for the children.


NOTE: Unfortunately this event has had to be cancelled due to very wet fields and more rain predicted for the weekend.  The Grade 7s will now be holding a cake and candy sale on 1 November 2013 during school hours.

Spring Walk 2013




When: 7 September 2013
Where: NWCS
Cost: R20 per person (adults and children)
Time: Registration from 08:00
Walk starts at 09:00
Distance: 4km or 8km
Pre-registration: 2-6 Sep

FINER DETAILS FOR THE DAY
·         Food.
We will have Bacon Rolls/Wors Rolls on sale before and after the walk for R15.00 per roll

·         Dogs.
ALL Dogs must be on a lead at ALL times
ALL Dogs must be trained and well socialised
Please make sure you carry a bag with you for doggie mess
Water stations will be at the halfway mark and on the field after
Dogs need to be old enough to walk the 4km. No little puppies please
Entrance fee for the dog is a can of food

·         Drinks
Water sachets will be available at the halfway point
Cokes will be on sale at the halfway point (carry some spare cash on you)
All drinks will be on sale after the walk at the school as well as ICE CREAMS
Water bottles will be on sale before the walk
The drinks and Ice Creams are being sold by the Grade 6’s this year to raise funds for the Grade 7 farewell so please support them
Tea and Coffee will be available before and after the walk at the school at R5 or R10 with a muffin

If you would like to pre register for the walk, tickets will be on sale at school on the Grade R playground from 2-6 Sep at the following times:
07:30-08:00
13:00-13:45
R20 per person walking

·         Prizes
The family that brings the MOST walkers on the day will win a family ticket to Gold Reef City
The first 25 children to arrive from each grade will receive a BRAND NEW NWCS Water Bottle

·         On Sale
We will have an extra 200 NWCS water bottle on sale for R30 after the walk
Save the Rhino will be having a table to raise funds so bring some cash to support them
All cars are to be parked OUTSIDE the school grounds on Duke of York, Albert, Walter and Park streets. ONLY the teachers will be allowed to park inside. There will be car guards on duty
The walk will start and end on Walter drive from the field gate. PLEASE do not park in front of this gate

Casual day 2013

Every year our school supports Casual Day.  This year will be no different.  Pupils will be allowed to wear civvies to school IF they have bought their sticker and wear it on the day.

Please bring your R10 and give it to your teacher.  A list will be kept and you will get your sticker on Friday.

Interhouse Athletics Photos

Our Interhouse Athletics was held on 19 and 20 July 2013.... well done to everyone who took part and to all the teachers and parents for their organisation.




Well done to Lungi Twala for winning the 100m dash and getting the trophy as the fastest boy in the school.

Interhouse Sports Day

Friday 19th July is FIELD EVENTS


Sports start at 10:30am.  Events covered will be Shot put, Javelin, Long Jump and Discuss

If you are participating, please come dressed in your PE shirt and shorts.  If you are not doing any events,please wear your full school uniform.  Remember your hat!!!

Saturday 20th July is TRACK EVENTS

All children are to be at school by 8am. Sports day starts at 9am and finishes at approximately 12:30pm.  This event is COMPULSORY for all pupils.

Please come dressed in your house shirt and shorts (or tracksuit pants if it is cold). Remember your hat!!!

Also bring water, snacks and sunblock on both days.

PARENTS
You are welcome to attend.  Please just follow these few simple rules for the day:
Please stay off the track.
Do not cross over the track to children on the field
Bring your chair
Please consider our neighbours when parking your car.  Do not park in their driveways.

There will be bacon rolls and chicken burgers plus drinks on sale during the day.

Come support your team and cheer on our athletes.

Are you ready to go Go Karting?

Well done everyone on getting in the raffle forms.... to date we have raised over R46000.... keep it coming.

Saturday 8th June is just around the corner

The Grades will race as follows on the day (this time includes a time for the parade):
09:00 – 09:35                      Grade R and Grade 4
09:45 – 10:20                      Grade 1 and Grade 5
10:30 – 11:05                      Grade 2 and Grade 6
11:15 – 11:35                      TEACHERS and PARENTS Race
11:45 – 12:20                      Grade 3 and Grade 7


Grade 0-3 will be on TRACK 1 and Grade 4-7 will be on TRACK 2

PRIZE GIVING:
This will take place at 13:00. We will do ALL prize winners at this time, including ALL raffle draws as well as the floating trophy awarded to the winning class from each grade for most laps.

RULES FOR THE DAY:

1.       PLEASE we urge everyone to attend on the day, but if you are unable to make your race for the day PLEASE let your teacher know ASAP because this will affect your laps.
2.       No cars will be allowed to park inside on the day apart from teachers. Parking will be on Albert, Park and Walter drives. We will have security guards on duty.
3.       NO DOGS will be allowed on the property for the day.
4.       There is NO entry fee. All purchases for the day will be on a ticket system. ONLY THE FLEA MARKET STALLS WILL BE HANDLING CASH. Tickets can be purchased on the day from the information table in denominations of R20, R50 and R100

FOOD
 Each grade will be selling food from around the world on the day. Please come hungry and we will make sure you are WELL FED! A menu (with prices) will be available soon.
